Minneapolis construction manager names Danny Radermacher to lead its new healthcare market sector across Minnesota and western Wisconsin
MINNEAPOLIS — October 12th, 2026 — Ancoats, a Minneapolis-based construction manager and general contractor, today announced its formal entry into the healthcare market sector, serving hospitals, health systems, and outpatient providers across Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The expansion is led by Danny Radermacher, who joins Ancoats as Senior Project Manager and Healthcare Market Sector Lead with nearly a decade of experience building in hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.
“Building on the deep experience from key team members at Ancoats, Healthcare is a natural next step,” said David Wood, Founder and President of Ancoats. “For years, our team has been a trusted provider inside some of the most demanding environments in Minnesota: clean rooms, research labs, and medical device manufacturing floors where work happens around critical operations. Hospitals and clinics ask for that same discipline. Careful phasing, rigorous infection control, and a partner who understands that the patients and caregivers come first. With several clinic-focused projects completed or underway, this formal commitment to Healthcare marks an official dedication of focus and resources to this practice.”
Rooted in life sciences
Ancoats has built a focused reputation in science and technology construction, delivering more than 30 projects representing over $100 million in work. That portfolio includes clean rooms and gowning suites, R&D and quality labs, medical device manufacturing spaces, and central plant and decarbonization upgrades completed inside operating facilities. The firm has also delivered outpatient clinic projects in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
“The work healthcare owners need most right now looks a lot like the work we do every day,” Wood said. “It’s not iconic towers. It’s modernizing clinical spaces while care continues, expanding outpatient capacity, and upgrading the infrastructure that keeps a facility running. All with a commitment to cost efficiency that scales. That’s where a team like ours makes a real difference.”
Deep healthcare expertise on the team
Radermacher has led more than $300 million in construction across integrated project delivery, construction manager at-risk, and lump-sum contracts, with a career concentrated in healthcare and life sciences. His healthcare portfolio includes a $60 million behavioral health treatment facility for the State of Minnesota; a $40 million central laboratory relocation and $35 million pharmacy relocation for M Health Fairview; NICU, operating room, emergency department, imaging, and vertical expansion projects at St. John’s Hospital; interventional radiology and specialty clinic work at Allina Health’s United Hospital; a $10 million behavioral health remodel for Children’s Minnesota; and a specialty center expansion for Gillette Children’s. Earlier in his career, he supported delivery of a $250 million-plus Kaiser Permanente hospital expansion in Los Angeles. His life sciences experience includes lab, grow, and manufacturing facilities for Syngenta and Lifecore Biomedical.
“Danny has spent his career delivering complex projects inside Minnesota’s leading health systems and knows what it takes to build in an environment where patient safety is non-negotiable,” Wood said. “Pairing that experience with a team already fluent in highly controlled, occupied-facility construction gives healthcare owners something they don’t always find: deep technical expertise with the attention and responsiveness of a firm our size.”
“Health systems are under real pressure to modernize and expand access while keeping care running and budgets in check,” said Radermacher. “Ancoats brings the right mix of senior involvement, cost discipline, and experience in controlled environments. I’m excited to bring that to the healthcare partners I’ve worked alongside for years.”
Where Ancoats will focus
Ancoats’ healthcare practice will concentrate on five areas where its experience translates most directly:
• Occupied clinical renovation — operating rooms, emergency departments, NICU and ICU, imaging, pharmacy, and labs
• Ambulatory and outpatient facilities — specialty clinics, surgery centers, and medical office buildings
• Behavioral health — treatment, crisis stabilization, and ligature-resistant environments
• Healthcare infrastructure — central plant, electrical, emergency power, and building systems upgrades
• Clinical and healthcare-adjacent life sciences — clinical labs, med-tech support spaces, and R&D
